It is with great sadness that I send you this announcement of the passing of our dear friend, confidant and mentor… Edward “Tug” Devine.

Tug has been a wonderful friend to A Heros’ Welcome, he will be terribly missed and we will never forget his friendship. Tug was always the ‘voice of reason’ with advice for A Hero’s Welcome.. carefully evaluating the situation and giving guidance that was always good for all involved, most of all.. Good for the Troops we were here to support. I can’t remember an event held in New Jersey that Tug didn’t attend, even when he wasn’t feeling well… and he’d suprise us in PA and Delaware too…he was working for the Troops. He was totally selfless and his leadership showed in the support he had from his friends and members of all the groups he worked with.

I will post information on Tug’s services on this site as soon as the arrangments are made but in the mean time, please keep Tug’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers. His big boots will never be filled.

Below are a few pictures of Tug that I hope will bring a smile to your face.. (I had a tough time finding pictures of him without a pretty girl on his arm.)

A Hero’s Welcome will join Tug’s family and many friends in a flag line to honor his years of service as a first responder and honoring our Military and Veterans.

Please bring your 3x5 American Flag at the Gardner Funeral Home in Runnemede, NJ.

Still can't believe he's gone!

He was such a great leader, friend, a human being!!! Missions just aren't the same. Everything is different!
